Michael T. Davis is the story of so many Nashvillians. He moved to Tennessee out of college – with the intention of making it the music industry, taking his lifelong musical obsession to its logical end. He worked at the famous Woodland Studios as assistant on a few high-profile records. Additionally, he co-founded the independent label Fictitious Records, which had a good – but unprofitable run for a few years.
He came to town – did a couple of cool things quite a while back. Got a straight job – moved away, came back and looked up and asked – “Why am I here? What is keeping me here?” The question became the impetus for The Journeymen, TN – what is it about this place that makes it singularly so important for music across the ages?
